This celebration of the religious calendar is observed on November 1st in our culture, by all those who remain living in this terrestrial world, while on November 2nd homage is given to the deceased, as groups of music and dance accompany people to the cemeteries. The mourners raise glasses of chicha or beer to the deceased at their tombs, making gifts of food, fruit, and anything that during their lifetime appealed to the deceased. Roast pork, tamales – corn cakes, and baptisms of bread dolls typically occur at this time.
